Hospitals in Network

Congenital Heart Disease in the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man, is provided through a network model of care. This works by having three levels of services working in partnership to ensure high quality and consistent care. The network and levels covers all age groups from before birth to old age. To aid this model and ensure the highest possible level of care a set of standards was developed by the NHS England Congenital Heart Disease Review in 2015. The three levels of Network care provided are:

  • Level 1: Specialist ACHD or Children’s Surgical Centre’s
  • Level 2: Specialist ACHD or Children’s Cardiology Centre’s
  • Level 3: Local ACHD or Children’s Cardiology Centre’s

ACHD, Paediatric and foetal services are working together across the network to ensure that the population we serve is provided with high quality, safe, appropriate and timely care.
